Albric Soly
Albric Soly was born in Tervant Paal (Belgium) on October 28, 1942. He studied at École des beaux-arts de Beringen and at Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal. In 1964, shortly before emigrating to Canada, he won the first prize of XIIIe Salon des beaux-arts de Pont-à-Mousson in France. In Québec, he was a founding member of the Société des arts de ville Laval. Using media such as oil, acrylic, glue or fabric, Soly harmoniously merged the real and symbolic: Chagall-style characters, dancing objects, musical instruments or trees arising from interior or exterior landscapes. His artworks are part of public and private collections in France, Canada and the USA.
