Pierre Pivet
Pierre Pivet was born in Normandie (France) in 1948. Painting was for him a passion from an early age but it was only starting in 1972 that he could totally dedicate himself to it. In 1974, he entered the Académie Port-Royal in Paris where he completed four years of artistic training. In 1976, he was awarded the Port-Royal Grand Prize as well as the Chardin Grand Prize. Other honours followed such as the Drouant Prize in Paris in 1977, the Silver Medal at Bilan de l'Art contemporain in Québec City in 1981, and his Monte-Carlo Prize Nomination in 1982. He emigrated to Québec in 1983 and settled in Montreal where he currently works. Pierre Pivet exhibits in a number of countries and attracts wide interest from collectors, galleries as well as firms who commission him for major projects. He has been a member of the Institut des Arts Figuratifs (Figurative Art Institute) since 1986.
