Devon Griffiths

Devon Griffiths’ creative method is rooted in energy, intuition, and the present moment. Her approach is strongly influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement. For her, painting is a poetic, almost spiritual process in which time ceases to exist.
She draws inspiration from her daily life—both the good and the bad—to create her art. Painting helps her make sense of it all, and it makes her feel good.
Sometimes, a poem or song lyrics inspire her. But most of the time, a piece comes to life when she honors the present moment and lets go. The spontaneous creation of a painting is often a challenge, but layer by layer, the artist lets her intuition guide her.
Each painting is an exploration of color, rich in texture and emotion.
When she begins, she doesn’t know how it will turn out, but she remains confident that she will discover it. For her, each painting is a unique puzzle that she must solve intuitively. She knows a painting is finished when a sense of ease emanates from the work—a sense of tranquility—and she knows she can put down her brush.
It is this feeling she wants to share; it is what she hopes to offer through her art.
