Geneviève Pratte

Originating from Gatineau, Geneviève Pratte obtained a degree in Visual Arts from the Université du Québec en Outaouais and a Master’s in Visual Arts from the University of Ottawa (2010). The theme of her quest is landscape and our impact on nature and the ecosystem. ”My work aims to be a way to illustrate or to question some visions that we have and how we make use of our Earth. While simultaneously being interested in the ecological impact that can be hidden behind an artistic approach advocating an art in symbiosis with nature, my approach ranges from criticism to the use of natural materials for contemplative purposes. My wonder often takes shape with natural elements. Whether it be sculpture or painting, my artistic practice intends to highlight a personal conception of nature: a collaboration, a close interconnection with it. Art can play a role in the creation of new links between humanity and ecosystem.”
