Jacques Malo is a sculptor born in Cap-de-la-Madeleine in 1952. He graduated in Plastic Arts from Université du Québec in Trois-Rivières and has worked for many years with designer artist Jean-Jacques Besner. In 1984, he held a major solo exhibition entitled Murales et sculptures (Murals and Sculptures) at L'Imagier Gallery in Gatineau (Aylmer) and afterwards, he participated in numerous collective exhibitions at the Visual Arts Centre in Montreal, at Université du Québec in Trois-Rivières, etc. Throughout his career, he never stopped improving his skills to master the various techniques specific to the different materials he was exploring, such as fibreglass, marble and bronze. In 1993, he learned bronze casting and designed ovens allowing him to cast his own artworks. Always keen on renewal, Jacques Malo keeps experimenting with the various aspects of the material, which is the very foundation of his creativity and inspiration.
