Jocelyn Blouin
Dedicated self-taught artist, Jocelyn Blouin has always painted. At the age of 40, he dared to publicly show his artworks at the Autre Caserne in Québec City, in 1999. Much to his surprise, he drew the attention of a reviewer from Le Soleil newspaper. Since that day, his artworks have never stopped being shown in galleries. In February 2007, he was awarded a borough prize in the professional artist category at Concours d'oeuvres d'art de la Ville de Québec 2006-2007 (2006-2007 Québec Artwork Competition). Over time, his work in oil or acrylic disposed of details to keep only the lines essential to understand the artwork. The no-frills cube representation is his main tool in the creation of urban landscapes.
