Raluca Pilat
Originating from Bucharest (Romania), Raluca Pilat is an artist with great versatility in all facets of visual arts. She masters with equal skill the majority of mediums: painting in oil or acrylic, pastel and graphic design. Her learning path started at Lycée des Beaux-Arts Nicolae Tonitza and at the Académie des Beaux-Arts Nicolae Grigorescu in Bucharest (Bachelor of Arts, 1989). Her way of working conveys an impression of strength, vitality and freshness. Her use of colour is precise and her touch, sometimes nervous, sometimes graceful, aligns well with the chosen subject. Raluca Pilat is undoubtedly an excellent drawer who masters both figurative composition, with reference to the rules of spatial geometry, and totally surrealist compositions. With Raluca Pilat, human or animal figures share the space with concrete shapes, abstract constructions coexist with invented mechanisms. Her artworks are part of numerous collections in Europe and on the American continent. She has exhibited her works in many renowned art galleries in Romania, in Europe and in Canada.
