Renée du Rocher
Originally from Granby, Renée duRocher has to date taken part in more than sixty solo and group exhibitions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal and has presented her work both in Canada and internationally. Her paintings are included in numerous prestigious museum collections, notably the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul and the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke. Among her recent exhibitions are her participation in the Biennale des Cantons de l’Est at the MBAS, a solo exhibition at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery in Washington, D.C., the TRACES series at La TOHU in Montréal, as well as Espace Québec in Hanoi, Vietnam.
“I am a painter of intuition, and for a long time my canvases have been linked to places imbued with history. I like to work in series and to question time: the time that passes and leaves traces, the time that signifies duration. I hope that my creations will captivate and spark the curiosity of those who encounter them.”
