Jocelyn Blouin

Although his parents are originally from the city of Quebec, Jocelyn Blouin was born almost by chance in the city of Ottawa in July 1959. His family returned to Quebec when he was at an age where memories are short-lived. Later, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Laval University in 1982 and, a few years later, he became a refrigeration technician. Throughout these years, despite these demanding activities, painting has always held a prominent place in his life. His paintings have found permanent exhibition space in galleries since 1999. They can now also be seen in many private collections around the world. Since 2016, painting has been his only professional occupation. He paints with acrylic on canvas. Over the years, his work has shed its details to retain only the essential lines for understanding the artwork. The representation of the cube, which is devoid of any embellishment, is its main tool in the development of urban landscapes.
