Desson paints to tell a story. He finds his inspiration in characters from novels, daily life and nature. His training in computer graphics greatly influences the composition of his work and is the cornerstone of his creation. Therefore, he makes a series of sketches before choosing the drawing that progressively will take shape on the canvas with the application of colour, bright yet tinged with sensitivity. One of the characteristics of his style is to press the characters up to the margin. Desson is represented in many galleries across Canada where he enjoys great popularity.
