Frédérick Ouellet

A self-taught painter, Frédérick Ouellet has been a chief painter for about ten years in the field of theater and stage. The enormous number of exhibitions, paintings, commissions and stage sets (often gigantic) that he has created make him an extraordinary creator. Imaginative and skillful, he creates objects and principles on canvas that border on scientific invention.

Inspiring nostalgia for a certain bygone era, his often complex compositions and surrealist settings give us the opportunity to see and understand on several levels of reading. He paints the object, transforms it and denatures it voluntarily to give it another meaning. Timeless archives, romantic mysticism and the metaphorical possibilities of art are at the heart of his research.
