Henry Wanton Jones
Born in 1925 in Waterloo, Québec, Henry Wanton Jones masters many forms of art such as jewellery, collage, sculpture and painting. Educated at École des beaux-arts de Montréal, he taught drawing and sculpture in Montreal universities before totally dedicating himself to oil painting in 1976 and exhibiting everywhere in Canada. His pictorial art is made of often ambiguous situations: horses accompanied by erotic nudes, masked portraits, self portraits and still lifes. His style resides between surrealism and naïve art with some elements of cubism. His artworks are part of various private and museum collections in Canada.
